How Flash SEO Will Revolutionize the Web of the Future

How Flash SEO Will Revolutionize the Web of the Future

Flash SEO, or Flash Search Engine Optimization, has been one of the fastest growing searches on the Internet since Google, Yahoo, and Adobe announced that they would be collectively enabling spiders to crawl and index the text within .swf files, therefore enabling natural Flash SEO listings. Though optimizing Flash SEO websites for search engines has been possible for some time through the use of sERF technology (essentially offering an alternative, HTML-based website behind the Flash website), that meant you had to create two separate sites to accomplish one objective. Not anymore!

Now, Flash-based websites can be search engine optimized without having to create a secondary site. This means many firms will be scrambling to learn all the in's and out's of using ActionScript to appropriately tag and optimize site elements, proper infrastructure of text inside Flash SEO files, and how to optimize individual Flash SEO utilities and in-page applications for maximum search engine exposure.

Because of this, now is the time to get on the ground floor of Flash SEO, because a huge market for understanding Flash search engine optimization technology looms on the horizon. The future of the web is in Flash, despite the current popularity of AJAX, PHP scripts, and other technologies. This is because web surfers want vivid animation as entertainment becomes a priority online. The entertainment quality of television is melding with the interactivity of the web, and only Flash can effectively combine the two into dynamic, entertaining pages that capture the visitors' imaginations -- and their dollars.

There are some new resources on the Web for Flash SEO, first and foremost SEO My Flash - where one can find free Flash SEO tools, Flash SEO news, and a plethora of other helpful Flash SEO resources. If you truly want to make your Flash website Flash SEO compatible, read up on Flash SEO as much as possible.

Those who learn the basic concepts of Flash SEO and learn how to apply effective Flash SEO search engine optimization techniques now will be ahead of the game when this ripening marketing comes to lucrative fruition.

getting your site listed on top in Search Engines

The tutorial is all about getting your site listed on top in Search Engines i.e Search Engine Optimization

First thing you need to do is find the keywords you want to optimize for.

There is great tool by Overture (/

But I would suggest using this free tool called GoodKeywords (/

This one does the same job as Overture does but it also supports other Search Engines (Lycos and Teoma etc..)

For example if you want to optimize for the keyword "tech news", just search for the keyword in any of the tools specified above... It would show you keywords related to that and not of the searches..

Pick the keywords which are related to your site.

For example when you search for "Tech News" you'll see the following results:

Count Search Term
11770 tech news
351 itt news tech
191 high tech news
60 news tech texas
49 computer tech news
42 bio news tech
34 in itt news tech
30 news tech virginia
29 asia news tech
25 hi tech news
25 sci tech news

Now see what other terms are related to your keyword technology news

Do couple of searches like that and note down around 15-20 keywords.
Then, keep the keywords which are searched most on the top.

Now you need Title Tag for the page.

Title tag should include top 3 keywords, like for "tech news" it can be like :

"Latest Tech News, Information Technology News and Other computer raleted news here."

Remember that characters should not be more than 95 and should not have more than 3 "," commas - some search engines might cosider more than 3 commas as spam

Now move on to Meta Tags

You need following Meta Tags in web page

No need to have other meta tags like abstract, re-visit and all, most people dont read it.

This tag is tells content type is html and character set used it iso-8859-1 there are other character sets also but this is the one mosty used..

This one should have all your keywords inside starting from keyword with most counts...

keyword tag for our example would be something like :

Remember to put around 15-20 keywords max not more than that. Dont repeat keywords or dont put keywords like, "tech news", "info tech news", "latest tech news" and so on...

Provide short decription about your site and include all the keywords mentioned in the title tag.

Decription tag should be:

It can be upto 255 characters and avoid using more than 3 "," commas

This is used for search robots..following explanation will help you :

index, follow = index the page as well as follow the links
noindex, follow = dont index the page but follow the links
index, nofollow = index the page but dont follow the links
noindex, nofollow = dont index page, dont follow the links
all = same as index,follow
none = same as noindex,nofollow

Now move on to body part of the page

Include all top 3 keywords here,
I would suggest to break the keyword and use it...

For example one stop for all kind of Latest Tech News and Computer Related information and reviews.................

Include main keywords in tags

and start with

and then move to

tag will be too big but CSS can help you there, define small font size in css for H1,H2,... tags

When done with page copy, then you need to provide title and alt tags for images and links.

Use some keywords in the tags but dont add all the keywords and if not neccessary then dont use keywords in it, basically it should explain what is image all about.

Remember to add Top keyword atleast 4 times in the body and other 2 keywords thrice and twice respectively.

Now move on to Footer Part
Try to include top keywords here and see the effect, use site keywords as links i.e.

Tech News Software News etc..

Now finally, you need to read some more stuff..may be you can all it as bottom lines...

Site Map - This is page where you need to put all the links present in your site, this is will help Search Engines to find the links easily and also provide link for site map in footer, as search engines start scanning the page from bottom.

Robots.txt - This file contains address of directories which should not be scanned by search engines.. more info can be found here : / search engines line google, yahoo ask for robots.txt file.

Valid HTML - Your code should have valid html and doc type, Its kind of diffucult to follow all the standards but you can atleast open and close all the tags properly, you can check your page's html online here : / or you can use this free software called HTML Tidy : /

All done now, you just need to check your site with this script, its called SEO Doctor : /

It'll show you the report of your site with solution.

Now, correct the errors and start submitting the site :

Start with google : /
then yahoo : /
then move to altavista, alltheweb and other search engies..

Also submit your site to direcories like / , / etc...
Dmoz is must, as google, yahoo and may more search engines uses same directory

And remember, dont try to SPAM with keywords in these directories, dmoz is handled by Human Editors

Submitted the sites, but still i cant see you site on top?

Wait for sometime may be a month or so but keep an eye on your search term, use / - this will show whenever google updates for your keywords, it will mail you the new results.

And also check whether your site is listed on google..
use this tool called Google Monitor, it can be downloaded for free from : /

A Basic Introduction to Search Engines

Nobody knows exactly how Search Engines work, and the algorithms change

Don’t try and design your website to trick the Search Engine

There are severe penalties for trying to trick or game a Search Engine so keep
your sites clean and sensible if you wish to remain a long term optimized website

Note: it is actually possible to “over optimize” your site – especially if you
were to follow every single tip I give you all at once on every page!

I know because I did it on a test site to see what would happen. (And then I
saved that website again by changing it back.)

Most “new to SEO” people go a little bit excessive in the early excitement of
learning all the “tricks”.

Even experienced SEO experts have pages filtered or dropped from the index at
times because the algorithm changes and a previous technique instantly
becomes less valuable.

(Many people got caught out with Link Farms/exchanges, same word anchor
backlinks and keyword density ratios….)

I have had pages get “supplemental” and then brought them back. It is possible if
you know why they got filtered in the first place.

The point I want to make early is this: be careful. Keep an eye on your
website pages regularly and be sensitive to how they rank. When you
notice changes, just observe.

Don’t rush to change things unless you know what you did wrong. If things stay
less than perfect then slowly make the changes I suggest in the SEO section of
this guide to rescue your pages.

Typically this will mean:

· Adding content,
· Changing content,
· Changing key phrases,
· Meta tags or links.

All will be revealed soon. Just know that you are about to get the power to control
your website more than before. You will gain confidence as you see the results
come through.

There are penalties for “over optimization” so again, make sure you understand
how to use these tips for your market. The weaker penalties are “filtering” of your
pages and the harsher ones are complete removal from the index.

If you are trying very “Black Hat” techniques such as Cloaking and Link
Farms then you need to be prepared to throw away your domain name
every so often when you get caught.

I don’t bother with that stuff. Good old fashioned hard and smart work will provide
you with a valuable income producing website. I prefer to take a more natural
approach and build something for the longer term.

How much is too much optimization?

A good rule of thumb is to analyze your competition and stay close to the best
optimized site in that niche. If they are a 7/10 just be an 8/10 to beat them! Don’t
pull out a gun at a fist fight ok?

If you come out guns blazing with all the tricks at once this is a sure sign of
manipulation and it is unnatural. Search Engines like natural.

What do Search Engines want?

Repeat after me: “Search Engines like natural, original, unique, fresh, relevant,
well presented, easy to navigate, friendly, interesting theme related websites that
don’t use tricks and sneaky tactics or manipulative techniques.”

Slow and steady – and have a plan

You will hear marketers talking about “drip feeding” sites. This is the same as
watering your plants. You don’t flood them in the first week with the hose, you
are better to gradually drip feed them over a longer term. They will grow stronger
and healthier. You want to project manage your website with an ongoing

The best thing you can do is plan your site improvement rollout and do it

progressively. Imagine trying to eat one months worth of meals in one sitting,
your stomach would notice right? You will get better results feeding your website

SEO - Search Engine Optimization

The purpose of SEO is to increase your free targeted traffic. When you have
your site indexed that is only the start.

Now you know the Search Engine knows about it, and then you want your
website to appear easily for your target audience in the search results.

The best way to think about this is NOT “how do I manipulate the Search Engine
to show my site above others”.

Rather, you need to consider:

How do I make my website the most relevant and appealing website to my
target audience?

How do I make it easy for them to find my website?

Once they are there how do I get them to take the required action?

In other words, make your website valuable

The reason for this philosophy relates to what the Search Engine is trying to do.
Google wants to make the websites it indexes the most relevant content possible.

So it would be unreasonable for a scant reprint article, keyword stuffed, machine
generated or poorly constructed flea market site to rank well wouldn’t it?

Google in particular is getting very fussy. If there is so much content on the web
(over 100,000,000 websites at last estimate) then they have the choice to
eliminate all but the most useful pages.

I will focus heavily on content in a later section because it is the main reason why
your website will fall or fly. You will see why basic article scraping is becoming a
bad idea.

What will rank well is a website that is unique in content, clearly laid out, site
mapped, easy to navigate and considered of value to others. (One measurement
of which is calculated by how many people link to it).
